Fulbright-National Geographic Award Application Components
The Fulbright Program and the National Geographic Society are partnering to provide a unique Fulbright opportunity, the Fulbright-National Geographic Award Program. This award program makes available additional funding and resources to enhance the reach and impact of the Fulbright experience.
This opportunity is best suited to applicants whose proposed projects align with the missions of both the Fulbright Program and the National Geographic Society, and who have a strong commitment to communicating their work. The Fulbright-National Geographic Award Program is an evolution of the partnership between the National Geographic Society and the U.S. Department of State that launched in 2013, previously titled the Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellowship. Originally focused on digital storytelling, the program now supports projects across research, conservation, technology, education, and storytelling.
Semi-finalists who indicated their interest in applying to the Fulbright-National Geographic Award Program in their application will be invited to submit additional materials for this opportunity in late January/early February 2025 following receipt of semi-finalist notifications. Application materials for this opportunity will be submitted in an invite-only application portal hosted by the National Geographic Society. Award program decisions will be communicated in late April 2025.
